1794: The biography of son Myron R. Knickerbocker says that John and Ann had 8 children, 3 of whom were alive in 1891. However, the land sale in 1849 of John's old farm involved only 5 of the children.
He lived in North East, Dutchess, NY, in 1820. Living next door to Asa Buttolph, who was later mentioned in John's probate notice in Genesee County.³
1828: Genesee County land index shows a middle initial of "H". Son Myron's biography in Michigan also shows John H.
He lived in Elba, Genesee, NY, on 28 January 1828. John Knickerbocker "of Elba" is the 2nd Knickerbocker to show up in the land records for Genesee County. Book 21, page 287. (2nd Knickerbocker in the deed book. Andrus was 1st, then John, then Peter H.)
He had his estate probated on 9 March 1830 in Genesee, Allegany, NY.²
