1790: Who was David's dad? Many trees claim John Knickerbocker in Essex, Vermont (i.e. Cornelius's son). Very unlikely. The John in Essex was born in 1730, as proven by his obit, and apparently never had children.
1790: DNA shows David was a "Knickerbocker" but is not accurate enough to identify exactly which line of Knickerbockers we are talking about. Best bet is that David's father was born in Salisbury CT. Many early VT proprietors were from Salisbury CT.
