• He lived in Addison, Addison, VT, about 1786. Thankful and her second husband, Stephen Pangborn, moved to Vermont. (They sold real estate in 1785 in New Canaan. Stephen then appears in the 1790 census in VT.) Bartholomew and the twins went with them.
• 1800: John Knick "Esquire" (son of Cornelius) was the best known Knick in VT. By 1800, John "Esquire" was in Essex, about 35 miles north of Bartholomew, who was in Addison.
• He lived in Addison, Addison, VT, in 1800. First appearance in census, 3 doors from Stephen Pangborn. 3 sons under the age of 10. (Other data for the three "known" sons has them all born near 1800. There might be at least a fourth son.) No daughters yet.³
