• Thankful Henrickje Hogoboom was baptized on 4 June 1744 in Linklean, Chenango, NY.¹
• She lived in Canaan, Litchfield, CT, in 1771. In 1771, real estate records show transaction between Harmon Knickerbacker and Thankful, his wife, and "Henries Hogeboom (our honored mother)." The wording makes it clear that Thankful's father had already died.
• About 1776 in Salisbury, Litchfield, CT: Death of Harmon Knickerbocker: Harmon disappears from Salisbury tax records. Later, his father's will shows that Harmon is dead, and that he had 4 children (John, Bartholomew, and twins Rachel and Thankful).
• She lived in Salisbury, Litchfield, CT, in 1785. In 1785, real estate records show Stephen Pangborn and Thankful Pangborn of Salisbury selling land inherited after the death of the widow Hendrica Hogaboom of Canaan. (Many thanks to James L for the records !!!)
• May 1785 in CT: Thankful Pangborn inherits land: See the probate file of her father Bartholomew. It contains a series of documents spanning many years. The addendum from May 1785 mentions that Thankful Pangborn inherited land when her mother died.
• 1800 in Addison, Addison, VT: Bartholomew Knickerbocker heads a household in Addison, VT. Bartholomew is living a few doors from Stephen Pangborn. Later census records show that Bartholomew named one of his sons Stephen.
