  • 1855: William was a popular first name, so its hard to be sure. However, our William seems to disappear forever.
  • 1870: There was a Wm in Iowa, b. NY, who is just the right age, but his father John Knickerbocker is living with him. Can't be our man.
  • 1870: This "William" disappears. There are Williams (or Wms) in the midwest, but none of them seem to fit.
  • 1874: There was a different Wm in Michigan. Familysearch has death notice for Sara A Nelson, daughter of Harriet and Wm. Knickerbocker. Sarah's father William was the son of Hugh Knickerbocker and Rachel Schram.
