Rebecca (Philadelphia) mnu Knickerbocker1,2,3,4

F, #4136, b. about 1800, d. October 1860

Family: John (Petrus line) Knickerbocker, B1768, (b. 1768, d. about 1835)

Biography

  • Rebecca (Philadelphia) mnu Knickerbocker was born about 1800.1,2
  • She died in October 1860 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.
  • 1800: Rebecca appears to be the widow of the John Knickerbocker who lived in NYC in the 1830 census. The ages of John's family in 1830 fit nicely with Rebecca's in 1840. Thus, I have tentatively made the connection. Looking for proof.
  • Rebecca (Philadelphia) mnu Knickerbocker lived in Spring Garden, Philadelphia, PA, in 1840. Three sons and a daughter. Sons in 1850 were John and Lafayette. Possible that the 3rd son in 1840 was Bolivar Knickerbocker. No clue about the daughter.3
  • She lived in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, PA, in 1850.1
  • PA, Philadelphia, Northern Liberties, Ward 6. HOH = Rebecca Knickerbocker. Widow of John Knickerbocker.
  • She was baptized in April 1850 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA.4
  • She lived in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA, in 1860.2
  • 1860 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA: Familysearch has a death record for Mrs. R.S. Knickerbocker in October 1860 in Philadelphia. Only problem: One of the records shows her age as 50, instead of 60.
  • 1861: Talented sons? John patented an improved boiler design. Lafayette patented an improved way to cut cards to make photo albums.
  • 1861: Son Bolivar? No proof that Bolivar (the physician) belongs to this family, but he was born in NYC and then had ties to Philly both before and after the civil war.
