1861: Talented sons? John patented an improved boiler design. Lafayette patented an improved way to cut cards to make photo albums.
1861: Son Bolivar? No proof that Bolivar (the physician) belongs to this family, but he was born in NYC and then had ties to Philly both before and after the civil war.
