Inter-related Dutch families: Lawrence was son-in-law of John Dyckman; Lawrence's daughter was married to Gabriel Dutcher, the son of Ruelef Dutcher. Lawrence bought land at the mouth of Salmon Creek, near where Lime Rock Road now crosses the Housitanic. This probably passed to son John, whose will refers to a farm known as "the Grant".
