Elizabeth Smith Moody1,2,3,4,5

F, #4052, b. about 1821, d. February 1901

Family: Hugh Jr Knickerbocker, B1802, (b. 1802, d. 1882)

Edwin Knickerbocker 1854-1930 so Hugh
Biography of Edwin Knickerbocker of Stanford, Dutchess Co. He was the son and grandson of men named Hugh Knickerbocker. Note that the author didn't even know the first name of Edwin's grandmother. This led to a big mistake: the grandmother was not a "Miss Stickle", but instead was Rachel Schram. For example, see the baptism record of Valentine Knickerbocker, or the biography of William Knickerbocker (who later moved to Michigan with his mother.) The belief that Hugh married a "Stickle" seems to go back to Isaac Hunting, author of Little Nine Partners, and has propagated ever since.
