Marriage license for Seymour "Knickerbocker" which shows Seymour as the son of Edward De Groff and Josephine Knickerbocker. As far as I know, Edward and Josephine were never married to each other. Josephine raised Seymour as a "Knickerbocker" but Seymour did name his son Edward.
