David Morehouse was born on 2 Feb 1761 in Pawling (South Dover),
Dutchess, NY.(1) He died on 7 Sep 1833.
(1) son of Col. Andrew Morehouse. David succeeded
his father in the management of the "Morehouse Tavern" at Pawling about
1782, where he remained till about 1800, when he moved to Greenbush, N. Y., and
from thence in 1804 to Spencertown, Col. Co., N. Y., where he purchased a farm
of James Savage, built a house and remained until his death. His home in Pawling
was at one time General Washington's headquarters (Adam's Morehouse Records,
Vol. II, No. 110). Jane Belden and David Morehouse had the following children:
